In short

Adar is the Hebrew month containing Purim, associated with the sense of laughter and the phrase mishenichnas Adar marbin b'simcha, when Adar enters we increase in joy. Its central idea is v'nahafoch hu, the reversal: in the Purim story the day meant for destruction became the day of salvation.

So now far Adar - The Month Where Reality Can Reverse

According to Kabbalah, each month of the Jewish year carries its own spiritual structure: a letter, a zodiac sign, a tribe, a sense, a colour, and an organ of the body.

These are not symbols.

They are the energetic blueprint of the month.

Adar corresponds to the letter

ADAR - Everything Can Flip

kuf

, the zodiac sign

Pisces

, the tribe

Naftali

, the sense of

laughter

, the colour - Sky blue, and the organ of the

spleen

ADAR - Everything Can Flip

The Hidden Strength of Adar -

Joy as a mechanism for transformation.

Adar is linked to the Hebrew word

adir

— strength.

It is a month of powerful mazal for the Jewish people. (Good to know with the heated Iran situation ;)) But also - nothing is a coincidence. The timing is perfect.

It’s central message is the transformation of darkness into joy.

This is revealed most clearly in the story of Purim, when what was meant to be our destruction became our salvation.

In a single turn, everything reversed.

This is why the sages teach:

“משנכנס אדר מרבים בשמחה”

When Adar enters, joy increases.

Not because life suddenly becomes easier,

but because

joy itself is the mechanism of transformation.

Joy Is a Spiritual Force

Rabbi Nachman of Breslov teaches that joy is not ordinary happiness.

Joy is a force that can overturn reality itself.

It repairs the soul.

Sadness disconnects a person from their true soul.

Joy restores clarity.

Joy restores confidence.

Joy restores vitality.

Joy restores agency.

Joy brings a person back into alignment with themselves.

Joy Is Embodied

Joy is not theoretical. It is embodied.

Dance in the morning.

Go outside. Walk. Move. Breathe.

Do something that gets you out of your head and back into your body.

Clear the mental static.

Return to yourself.

Because Adar teaches that even when everything appears concealed, something deeper is moving beneath the surface.

The Hiddenness of Purim

Purim arrives on the full moon, in one week.

Megillat Esther is the only book in the Torah where God’s name never appears.

On the surface, the story reads like politics, coincidence, and danger.

But beneath the surface was order.

Hashem was there the entire time.

Not absent. Hidden.

Esther: Hiddenness as Positioning

Esther lived in hiding.

Not as punishment. As positioning.

And when the moment came, she stepped forward and saved her people.

Her power was not created in that moment. It was revealed in that moment.

You are not where you are by accident.

You are here for a reason!

The Secret of Adar - “וְנַהֲפוֹךְ הוּא”

Everything can flip.

This is the secret of Adar.

This is the secret of Purim.

In one moment, everything reversed.

The day meant for destruction became the day of victory.

The fall was not the end.

It was the turning point.

The darkness itself was carrying the light.

Your lowest point is not your end.

It is your point of reversal.

Happy Adar! I will share a post about Purim - my favourite.

All my love!!

Questions people ask

Why do we increase joy in Adar?+

Because the month's story is one of reversal. Joy is treated not as a reward for good circumstances but as the force that can turn a situation over.

What is Adar I and Adar II?+

In a leap year the calendar adds a second month of Adar. Purim is celebrated in Adar II.
